Our Story

Our commitment to caring for seniors began in 1981 when Bridgeway opened its doors as a single, long-term care community. The Pelligrino and Rivera-Dugenio families have always shared a vision of providing compassionate, quality care for seniors in an environment that feels like home. By caring for residents like members of our own families, Bridgeway has earned a reputation for providing loving, superior care and has earned the trust and respect of the community.

In response to the ever-changing healthcare needs of the community, we soon realized that more comprehensive services for seniors were needed. We then opened a sub-acute rehabilitation Pavilion to provide short-term care and rehabilitation services to assist adults recuperating from illness or injury so they could return to their own homes and families.

In 2000, we once again responded to the community need for independent assisted living.  We opened the Avalon Assisted Living Residences to offer personalized care in a homelike setting for individuals who prefer independent living, but may need some assistance with daily tasks.

Bridgeway Care and Rehabilitation Center in Hillsborough opened in 2012 and is our newest building. With its beautiful accommodations and first class amenities and accommodations, we are fulfilling the need for specialized long-term care, memory care and a short-term, sub-acute rehabilitation center.

Today, Bridgeway Senior Healthcare is a respected leader in the senior healthcare community. Our family of senior living residences provides a continuum of care that sets the standard for improving the quality of life for seniors. We don’t just operate like a family business, we are a family business. The experienced, third generation of the Pelligrino and Rivera-Dugenio families is personally involved and on-site daily to instill the family values that guide us and ensure our residents are living life to the fullest. We invite you to become part of the Bridgeway family and experience what makes us special.
